Wasn't sure where else to put this. Sorry. The stats calculator has a typo in the description regarding wasted points (FYI). My question has to do with the stats calculator. As an example, I tamed a 116 anklyo, Came out at 173. I put in the values per stat into the calculator following the successful tame. On the bottom of the calculator it says "Oops, looks like this creature's stats are too high for its' level"? I'm confused about this and was wondering exactly how this works? Is this calculator meant to be used simply for pre-tame dinos? So in order to determine where post-tame points went, I have to figure out the pre-tame stats then compare to post-tame??? Thanks for your time!

Aaron That's true, but you can only gain <50% of the levels after taming, so pre-tame stats will be the majority, and are the only thing you can really make a decision on before you tame it. Definitely thinking about including a post-tame stat "extractor" to find the original stats post-tame though! :)

Ok. So, I'm curious. If I downed a rex for example. I put it's stat values into the calculator and it shows that 30 levels were put into melee and that's the highest value. Great right. After taming it, it's completely possible for the new major stat to become food if the bonus post tame levels are randomly placed into that stat. Is that right? So then what's the purpose of even figuring out pre-tame stat values? For breeding, post-tame stats matter greatly don't they? Thanks again for your time. Maybe I'm just confusing myself and I know this isn't a discussion thread. LOL

Thanks for pointing out the typo, Aaron! That's been fixed in the next version of the app.
The stat calculator is for pre-taming only. People use it to determine how stats have been distributed to a wild dino.
In Ark, once a creature is tamed, it gains bonus levels, and additional bonus stats are distributed to the dino -- but that depends based on your taming effectiveness.
You make a great point though -- the stat calculator doesn't explain itself. It does on the web version of Dododex: http://www.dododex.com/stat-calculator I'll see if I can add some more info, or at least a few lines to help clarify!
Thanks!
